DIVAL COTEL : Valleys and hillsides

A selection of grapes, a selection of places, which reflect the historical heritage of Champagne.

SIX TERROIRS FOR DIVAL COTEL CHAMPAGNES

VILLAGES EXCLUSIVELY SELECTED AT THE HEART OF THE CHAMPAGNE VALLEYS AND HILLSIDES, A CHOICE, A SELECTION TO BRING TO LIGHT THE HISTORICAL KNOW-HOW OF OUR WINEMAKERS

TERROIR N°1 : Côte des Blancs

A real water reservoir, thanks to its porosity

The fruit pulls on its roots to absorb water. This gives a good balance between acidity and sugar to the fruit, allowing it to reveal its aromas, and all the freshness of the Blanc de Blancs.

TERROIR N°2 : Côte des BAR

A mixture of clay and Kimmeridgian limestone.

Ensures a balanced moisture content and retains heat. The proportion of clay in the soil will determine the style of the wine. The clay gives body to the wine, and the limestone gives finesse.

TERROIR N°3 : MONTAGNE DE REIMS

The soil is rich and finer grained than the marl.

Mixture of clay and limestone. They constitute a cold rock base which delays the maturation of the grapes. The limestone brings finesse and balance.

This soil is known to give powerful and colored wines.

TERROIR N°4 : Vallée de la Marne

To the West: the Marne River regulates the atmosphere, and offers a micro climate, and a mildness that allows the grapes to develop supple and fruity aromas.

In the East: the dominant grape variety is Pinot Noir. They are full-bodied, fine and delicate, and offer less freshness

TERROIR N°5 : Côte de Sézanne

The dots illustrate the soils which are composed of chalk, limestone and clay.

TERROIR N°6 : Vitryat

The dots and small lines that connect them express the chalky soil and the specific chalk of this terroir.
