CHAMPAGNE

PINOT BLANC 2017

Origin

Cru de Buxeuil

Côte des Bar, Aube

Personality

  • The Vintage:

A difficult year due to frost. A sunny summer. Heavy rain end of August, that preponed the harvest to prevent grapes from rotting. Pinot Blanc being resistant to frost, the wine still remains juicy

  • The varietal:

A  round, supple and structure mouth revealing the true character of Pinot Blanc: generosity, vivacity, floral notes and juicy notes of white and yellow fruits

  • An ageing time of 3 years in Vertus, in the century-old chalk cellar

CHAMPAGNE

BLANC DE BLANCS 1er Cru 2015

Vertus, Côte des Blancs

Origin

Grapes grown in Vertus, a 1er Cru Village.

A terroir of chalk, known for its fineness, delicacy, complexity and salinity.

Personality

  • The Vintage:

Bright weather conditions: a dry summer reminding the 1947 harvest. Excellent grape quality, a grape must that brings great volume and acidity. Great conditions to make a great vintage. An excellent harvest, very qualitative but with low yield. A vintage bringing complexity.

NB: vintages represent only 2% of the harvest in Champagne.

  • A plot-by-plot winemaking process, made over a selection of 4-5 hectares of vines
  • Harvest date: 8 September
  • The wine was blended with reserve wine matured for several years in barrels

BLANC DE BLANCS 1er Cru 2014

Vertus, Côte des Blancs

Origin

Grapes grown in Vertus, a 1er Cru Village.

A terroir of chalk, known for its fineness, delicacy, complexity and salinity.

Personality

  • The Vintage:

A freezing winter and invasion of fruit flies, especially on red grapes, that didn’t impact the Côte des Blancs. We were fortunate to have an abundant harvest of qualitative chardonnays.

NB: vintages represent only 2% of the harvest in Champagne.

  • A plot-by-plot winemaking process, made over a selection of 4-5 hectares of vines
  • Harvest date: 12 September
  • The wine was blended with reserve wine matured for several years in barrels
